CCCAM is pleased to announce the Coach of the Year, Brieanna Cummings from Novi!
Brieanna Cummings has 11 years of coaching experience at the freshman, JV, and varsity levels, along with 2 years of experience as an MHSAA official. She is also actively involved in coach development through CCCAM, where she has served as a mentor for the past 3 years and currently serves on the working board. During her time at Novi (D1), she has helped lead significant program growth and development. When she took over the program, they had 8 high school and 8 middle school athletes. Over the past 7 seasons, the program has expanded to include a 5/6 team, 31 high school athletes, and a total of 64 athletes across grades 5–12. This past season, the program reached Regionals for the first time in 16 years.
Brieanna’s coaching philosophy is centered on building a strong and sustainable team culture rooted in sportsmanship, accountability, positive attitude, and mental performance. Brieanna prioritizes developing confident, resilient athletes while also creating an environment where students grow as leaders on and off the mat.
