CCCAM Hall Of Fame

Congratulations to the late Sherry Fedewa, on receiving the CCCAM Hall of Fame Award! 🤍👏🏼 Sherry had over 23 years of experience coaching high school competitive cheer. She coached at Pewamo-Westphalia High School as head coach from 1987-2006, and as assistant coach from 2016-2020.

Accomplishments:
• Under Sherry’s head coaching, Pewamo-Westphalia earned seven State Championships and nine State Runner Up titles.
• She was also part of the small team of coaches who pioneered the transition of cheer to MHSAA.
• 1997 CCCAM Coach of the Year
• 1998 Michigan High School Coaches Association Coach of the Year
• Pewamo-Westphalia’s cheer team boasts 10 MHSAA state championships, and 14 runner-up finishes.
• Pirates are the winningest D4 team (tied with Breckenridge)
• With 24 total champion/runner-up finishes, P-W stands alone in the category among all schools of all sizes.
• Because her career preceded the MHSAA transition, Sherry had the opportunity to take her team to national competitions, and brought home a national championship.

Congratulations to Deb Gaines, on receiving the CCCAM Hall of Fame Award! 👏🏼 Deb has 38 years of experience coaching high school competitive cheer at Breckenridge High School, and serves as a director at MaxAthletics.

Accomplishments:
• 10 MHSAA State Championships
• 1 MHSAA Runner Up
• Under her direction, Breckenridge has 18 State Finals Appearances
• 12 Regional Titles
• Huskies are the winningest D4 team (tied with Pewamo-Westphalia)
• Breckenridge Coach’s Hall of Fame
• 2003 CCCAM Coach of the Year
• Multiple All-State Academic Achievement Awards
• Champion Coach’s Mentor
• MaxAthletics Director
